Rachel T. Uy-San Juan is the founder and the namesake of the firm. A CPA-lawyer, she leads the firm’s corporate and tax practice. She has an in-depth expertise in estate planning, tax structuring, tax compliance and tax litigation, among others.

As a tax expert, Uy-San Juan has handled tax cases before the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA).

She also has extensive experience in corporate law. Some of her significant works involved corporate restructuring, tax litigation and settlement, and estate planning and settlement. She performs corporate housekeeping work and provides legal advice to various top corporations in the country. Uy-San Juan also performs legal due diligence. She has been entrusted to act as transaction counsel in mergers and acquisitions, projects which are worth billions of pesos.

Prior to founding the firm, Uy-San Juan honed her skills and expertise through significant professional engagement. She was an Associate Auditor of Isla Lipana & Co. (formerly Joaquin Cunanan & Co.), a PricewaterhouseCoopers affiliate, which provides audit and assurance, tax and advisory services within and outside the Philippines. She was an Associate of SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan (2010-2014). After leaving the firm, she co-founded Ho & Uy Law Firm in July 2014, where she was a Managing Partner until September 2019.

Uy-San Juan served as a Court Attorney for the Office of Justice Estela M. Perlas-Bernabe (2012-2013) and as Attorney-General at the Philippine Business Council – Qatar (PBCQ). She was a Consultant to the Office of former Justice Undersecretary Jose F. Justiniano (2013-2014) and to the Supreme Court of the Philippines (2016).

Uy-San Juan was also a professor of taxation. Her proven expertise in taxation and corporate law makes her one of the esteemed speakers to various seminars and symposia.

She graduated Magna Cum Laude at Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation in Lucena City in 2004 with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. She was the top of her graduating class, with a Grade Point Average of 1.25. She passed the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Board Examination in 2005.

Uy-San Juan studied law at the University of the Philippines-Diliman. While studying, she worked for Antonio R. Bautista & Partners Law Office as a research assistant. In 2010, she earned her Juris Doctor degree. She was one of the top graduates of her class with a Grade Point Average of 1.95 and received the Dean’s Medal for Academic Excellence. She passed the 2010 Bar Examination and was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2011.

Since 2015, Uy-San Juan is a Registered Financial Planner Graduate. She also became a Chartered Trust Estate Planner in 2017, after completing the certificate course provided by American Academy of Financial Management, in which she graduated with distinction.

Uy-San Juan is a member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines and the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Joyce Ann G. Mendoza is a CPA-lawyer and has an extensive background in accounting, taxation and auditing. In 2014, she founded JAG Mendoza Accounting Services. As the owner, she performs administrative and management functions, and provides accounting and tax services, as well as auditing services.

Before putting up her own company, Mendoza has established a firm foundation through her broad work experience. During her college years, she started building an accounting and financial audit experience in a small local accounting firm as a part-time Junior Accountant.

From 2008-2010, Mendoza worked as an Associate Auditor in SGV & Co., an affiliate of Ernst & Young, LLP and the leading auditing firm in the Philippines. She specialized in information systems audit assurance services, where she conducted business process controls audits and reviews.

Mendoza has built a solid experience on Internal Information System Audit in Banco de Oro Unibank. As Junior Assistant Manager, she performed pre-implementation audits, IT operations audits, process review and fraud cases investigation.

Mendoza also worked for UnitedHealth Group as Senior IT Security Analyst. She managed site compliance on information risk management and security risk awareness. She created and implemented site compliance guidelines and initiated security awareness activities and communications. She was also one of the leads for vendor risk assessment programs using frameworks and standards set by ISO 27001-27002, HIPAA, HITRUST CSF, PCI DSS and others.

Mendoza completed her Bachelor of Science in Accountancy degree at San Sebastian College Recoletos in 2008, where she graduated Cum Laude. She was a consistent honor student and a recipient of various awards and recognitions.

Mendoza passed the 2008 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Board Examination with a rating of 87. She is a member of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA).

Mendoza earned her Bachelor of Laws degree at the University of Santo Tomas in 2018 and passed the 2018 Bar Examination. At the same university, she also earned units in Masters in Business Administration.

Mendoza is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and placed 3^rd in the certification examinations. In addition, she is also a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and is an accredited tax practitioner of both the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and the Board of Accountancy (BOA).

Jenny Lou F. Decano was a Junior Associate of Ho & Uy Law Firm. She was also a Legal Staff Trainee at the Office of Justice Amy Javier in the Court of Appeals. Her work experience trained her to draft contracts, decisions, resolutions and other legal documents, and conduct in-depth legal research. She also assisted in developing case strategies, helped gather evidence and represented client meetings.

Decano earned her law degree at the University of Santo Tomas. She was also a member of the university’s Golden Notes Academics Committee of Mercantile Law and Taxation. She was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2019.

She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at Bicol University, and also holds a Master’s Degree in Nursing at the same institution. As a student, she was a consistent achiever. A registered nurse and registered midwife, she has also experienced working in the medical industry.
